i. She often kept to herself;
the idea of letting anyone in – revolting
many called her the local jack frost:
with a heart as black as the night sky,
if one tried to get too close –
she'd build an igloo around her heart,
a fortress threatening to stumble at any moment
with charcoal hair hiding irises as cold as ice,
deep as the ocean filled with:
forbidden secrets surrounding around the –
boy who didn't acknowledge her existence

ii. He was young and carefree;
oblivious to the world around him –
as he had locks the hue of the sun,
golden waves crashing over
irises that sparkled with mischief:
a hint of chestnut specks radiating –
from the sand beneath his feet
his faith like the undulating waves
relentlessly churning from the inside
for the girl who didn't acknowledge his existence

iii. He was like the thrashing wind;
there, but invisible to those around him
a shadow of a silhouette on the wall –
often mistaken for that fly overlooking
listening quietly to conversations around him;
giving his own input on the situation in his head
struggling with the courage to get up and talk with her
one amongst many autumn leaves
terrified to fall and take the risk:
the fear of flying and never knowing
where you might wind up:
free-falling or smack dab on the perished earth
in love with the girl who didn't acknowledge his existence

iv. She was a humble plain-Jane;
often seen hidden behind the pages:
of a chemistry or calculus textbook
she bore the color of virgin white,
known as the local preacher man's daughter
but beneath those wire-rimmed glasses
were enticing hazel irises longing for something?
other than the salvation her daddy preached about
wee late into the night she'd delve into the pages
of romance novels and seductive dreams
where her skin was as smooth as honey;
and voice as rich as strawberry wine
she often wished of never waking up
because at least in her dreams
her relationship could blossom
like a delicate rose in the morning
instead of a striking acacia
with the boy who didn't acknowledge her existence
i was inspired by this lovely lady's masterpiece, [link] :heart:
she's a magnificent writer, if you aren't watching her...
then you totally should! her pieces are heartfelt,
and will pull at your heart-strings like they did mine,
hers is so much more beautiful than mine,
but i wanted to try it out and although mine is slightly different...
i enjoyed the idea of personifying the seasons as i, too,
believe they represent more than what meets the eye ♥

note: please don't just favorite, i like comments more! :thumbsup:
